Packaging for the household safety kit distributed under the Saudi Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing: a carry-box for a fire extinguisher, blanket and warning triangle.
Overview
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH) runs a public-safety programme whose household kit holds a fire extinguisher, a fire blanket and a traffic triangle. Black designed the packaging for that kit: the carry-box form and graphics, colour variants, the instruction panel and the programme’s key visual, which carries the ministry’s mark. The work is recorded in Black’s 2023 portfolio as a fire-safety box designed for the ministry.
Approach
A suitcase form with an integrated handle so the kit is carried, not stored. The face states the contents at a glance in Arabic under the line ‘your safety matters, awareness is a duty’; the reverse carries step-by-step instructions for the extinguisher and the blanket. Green, red and navy variants were prepared.
