Overview
Volca is a Lebanese company making coconut-shell charcoal for shisha. Black designed the wordmark, the packaging artwork for the retail cube and for the hexagonal, cubic and square master boxes and their inners, and a series of six billboard designs in four formats.
Approach
Black ground, a hexagonal pattern that echoes the briquette, one line of fire running continuously around the box, and a wordmark cut like cooled lava. The same artwork scales from the 1 kg cube to the trade master boxes and to billboards in 4×3, 8×3, 255×400 and 300×400.
